Questions and answers

Will the layout match the PDF exactly?

It gets close for documents made in a word processor: paragraphs, columns, tables, pictures and page numbers are kept. Forms, vector drawings and very complex designs are not reproduced exactly, and Word may wrap a line differently when a font is missing. The option to keep line breaks makes every line end where it did.

Does it work with Arabic?

Yes. Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu text stays real, editable text, paragraphs and tables are set right to left, and older PDFs that store every letter as a separate shape are turned back into normal letters that Word can shape.

What about scanned PDFs?

Pages without text are read with text recognition (OCR) on your device. Pick up to three languages from English, Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Printed text works best, and handwriting is not supported.

Is my file sent to a server?
