Extract a color palette from an image

Pull a harmonious palette out of a photo, logo or screenshot. The tool finds the dominant colors with median cut quantization and gives you each one in the format you work with, ready to paste into CSS or a design file.

How it works

Questions and answers

How are the colors chosen?

Pixels are grouped by median cut and the most populated groups become the palette. Colors that look nearly the same are merged.

Can I ignore white backgrounds?

Yes. There are options to skip near white and near black pixels, useful for product shots.

Does the image leave my browser?

No, it is analysed locally.
